Razi Social Development Organization (RSDO) is delighted to announce the successful completion of the “Strengthening Social Cohesion in Afghanistan” project, made possible with financial support from the Search for Common Ground organization. This transformative initiative, which began on September 1, 2023, concluded on January 31, 2024, after six months of dedicated efforts.
The project’s primary goals were to enhance social cohesion and promote Islamic brotherhood in Afghanistan, with a focus on the Injil district of Herat province. Key activities included capacity-building for educators, collaboration with local educational institutions, and fostering participatory approaches within the community.
During the project’s duration, RSDO conducted 8 participatory training sessions, engaging 160 individuals to deepen their understanding of social cohesion principles. Additionally, volunteer committees comprising 32 members were formed to actively promote social cohesion and resolve local conflicts.
One of the project’s notable achievements was the deployment of professional mediators equipped with enhanced conflict resolution skills. These mediators played a crucial role in mitigating conflicts at the grassroots level, thereby contributing to sustainable peace and harmony within the community.
RSDO extends its sincere gratitude to Search for Common Ground for their invaluable support throughout the project. We also commend the participants, volunteers, and local stakeholders for their active involvement and commitment to fostering social cohesion in Afghanistan.
