
Following its previous humanitarian activities and in fulfillment of its humanitarian mission, the Razi Social Development Organization has undertaken the emergency food distribution project for the most vulnerable families in the urban areas and districts of Herat province. This project is supported financially and technically by the World Food Programme (WFP) and will run from June 2025 to August 2026 in the fifteen urban areas and nineteen districts of Herat province, implemented periodically according to the WFP’s plan.
In the first round of this project, food assistance was distributed to 779 severely vulnerable households in Kushk-e-Kuhna district during June, July, and August 2025.
In the second round, cash assistance was successfully distributed to 1256 severely vulnerable families in the seventh district of Herat city during August and September 2025, and the distribution of cash assistance for October will be carried out in a few days. This was done following a door-to-door survey, beneficiary identification, and their registration in the system.
The third round of this process has begun with a door-to-door survey in the second, tenth, and fourteenth districts of Herat city, identifying 6357 eligible families for cash assistance. Similarly, the door-to-door survey process for distributing food aid and identifying beneficiaries has also started in the districts of Rubat-e-Sangi (397 households), Kushk-e-Kohna (1729), Gulran (462 households), Kohsan (364 households), Zinda Jan (738 households), Adraskan (1430 households), and Koh-e-Zor (214 households). This assistance will be provided for three months (October, November, and December).
