Razi Social Development Organization (RSDO) has started food distribution project for poor families with the financial support of WFP from the beginning of January 2022 for 6 months in Herat province due to the critical economic situation of the people.
This project has been launched to prevent the deterioration of food for the vulnerable families and to provide free food assistance to 36,324 families in the six districts of Herat (Golran, Kushk-eKuhna, Robat-i-Sangi, Kohsan, Ghorian and Zandeh Jan).
RSDO surveyed door-to-door in January by creating an experienced and trained team with vulnerability indicators and criteria to identify needy families, and then distributed six-month food ration card to beneficiaries.
In January, food packages including (Wheat Flour, Veg oil, Pulses, salt, food supplements for child under 5 and nutritional supplements for pregnant and lactating women) are transferred and distributed to the farthest and most vulnerable areas by the World Food Organization (WFP) and RSDO team for the identified families.
WFP food distribution assistance by Razi Social Development Organization (RSDO) has been extremely effective for the vulnerable families in the turbulent economic situation of the country and has given hope to some families.
