General Project Information
This project was designed for five years in two provinces, Herat and Ghor. The beneficiaries of the project are IDPs, Returnees, and Host communities that include women, men, children, old, young, educated and illiterate, etc.
The project has four components:
- Peace building;
- Psycho-social consoling;
- Vocational training;
- Agriculture.
The main purpose of this project is:
• Building the social peace in the target area;
• Social reintegration of IDPs, Returnees, and Host communities in the target area;
• Providing economic facilities to reduce poverty and unemployment.
Components of the project:
1.Peace building:
The main component of the project is the peace building and it includes:
• Peace building training;
• Youth clubs;
• Child-friendly space;
• Tournaments;
• Library;
• Events.
2. Psycho-social counseling:
In this component, RSDO consolers in both men’s and women’s sections help people to achieve peace of mind and have a better life at home and in the community. This component includes:
• Individual counseling;
• Group advice for people with similar diseases;
• Round tables for women who have experienced sexual and gender-based violence;
• Group discussions;
• Family consoling.
3. Vocational training:
In order to grow the family economy and decreased poverty, five professions are designed to train. There are three professions for women and two professions for men.
• Women: cosmetics, confectionery, and hand embroidery.
• Men: barber/ male barber and refrigerator repairing.
4.Agriculture:
To enhance the capacity of farmers as well as create a value chain for their products and generate income, agriculture training is divided into six sections:
1. Saffron;
2. Vegetable cultivation;
3. Fruit processing;
4. Goat breeding;
5. Poultry;
6. Beekeeping.
Monitoring and Evaluation
The monitoring and evaluation process is divided into two parts: internal and external
1. Internal monitoring: Donor and partner organizations.
2. External monitoring: governmental sectors and target area shuras.
Fortunately, RSDO has good activities and satisfied monitoring teams.
