Continuing its activities in the Kushk-e-Kohna district of Herat Province, the RSDO organization held a training workshop on personal hygiene and safe drinking water for about 400 poor and vulnerable families.
Due to the fact that the people of this region are deprived of safe drinking water, unfortunately, people suffer from various diseases every year due to the lack of sufficient knowledge about hygiene. With efforts and perseverance in creating and increasing awareness about hygiene and the use of safe drinking water for the people of the Kushk-e-Kohna district, the RSDO organization conducted separate educational workshops for eligible people including men and women from deprived villages of this district.
These types of workshops increase people’s awareness, and as a result, reduce people’s incidence of various diseases. In addition, at the end of the training workshop, hygiene materials and safe drinking water storage containers were distributed to the participants for free, so that they can stay as safe as possible from diseases caused by drinking unsafe water and lack of cleanliness. The next step to improve hygiene conditions and to provide safe drinking water for the deprived people of this region is to dig water wells in schools and the deprived villages of this district. These donations are funded by the Japan Platform and NICCO organization and its effective and accurate implementation by the RSDO organization is an effort to improve health and wellness for the society.
