The Razi Social Development Organization (RSDO) has been actively engaged in providing critical humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable populations in Afghanistan’s western provinces. Under the activities of Project AFG 124-22, which commenced on 1st October 2022 and concluded on 30th September 2024, RSDO delivered a range of essential services aimed at addressing food insecurity, cash for food, winterization, NFI and Food Mixed Modality (FMM) packages. The aid specifically targeted the most vulnerable households, internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, pregnant and lactating women (PLWs), and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
During the two-year duration of the project, a total of 37,400 households (HHs) received assistance. Of these, 16,004 households were female-headed, and 21,396 households were male-headed. These efforts focused on alleviating the most pressing needs of those living in the most disadvantaged regions of Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Badghis provinces.
In collaboration with the Help Germany organization and funded by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ADH organization, RSDO successfully implemented five aid distribution cycles across the four provinces. These initiatives are a testament to the strong partnership between RSDO and its international partners and underscore a shared commitment to improving the living conditions of marginalized communities in Afghanistan during times of extreme hardship.
The aid distributed included both cash transfers and in-kind resources, to address the immediate needs of eligible recipients in remote and underserved areas. The program reached various districts within Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Badghis provinces.
The impact of these interventions has been substantial, with tangible improvements in the livelihoods and well-being of individuals in some of Afghanistan’s most impoverished regions. Moving forward, RSDO remains committed to sustaining these efforts and working alongside international partners to promote long-term development and improve the standard of living for disadvantaged populations across Afghanistan.
We express our sincere gratitude to all stakeholders involved in this project, and we look forward to continued collaboration in our shared mission to create positive change and enhance the quality of life for vulnerable communities.
