Herat, Afghanistan – July 2022 – Razi Social Development Organization (RSDO) is proud to announce the successful completion of its food distribution project on Dec, 2023. This project which aimed at assisting vulnerable families in Herat province. launched in January 2022 through the financial support of the World Food Programme (WFP) organization.
Recognizing the critical economic situation faced by many in Afghanistan, RSDO endeavored to provide essential food aid to 36,324 families across six districts: Golran, Kushk-e Kuhna, Robat-i-Sangi, Kohsan, Ghorian, and Zandeh Jan. The project was specifically designed to prevent food insecurity and to offer relief to the most disadvantaged households.
The food packages, consisting of wheat flour, vegetable oil, pulses, salt, food supplements for children under five, and nutritional supplements for pregnant and lactating women, were delivered to the remotest and most underserved areas by the coordinated efforts of the WFP and RSDO teams.
The impact of this project has been profound. The distribution of these food supplies has provided much-needed relief and hope to thousands of families struggling amid Afghanistan’s challenging economic climate. The success of this initiative underscores RSDO’s unwavering commitment to supporting the vulnerable and contributing to the reconstruction and development of Afghanistan.
