RSDO recently concluded WFP project, which ran from July 2023 to August 2024. The project covered Herat City, Gulran, Kushk-e-Kohna, Kushk, and Kohsan districts, successfully delivering assistance to beneficiaries across these areas. The BNF selection is door to door assessment following the scope registration every single BNF and distribution accordingly.

The project is utilized within four modalities for distribution that these modalities are defined according to the WFP design such as: In-Kind, Commodity Voucher, Value Voucher, and Direct Cash. Over the period of 11 distribution cycles, beneficiaries in RSDO-covered areas received four types of assistance.

Direct Cash that BNFs have been received cash entitlement. Commodity Voucher which BNFs received a pack of wheat flour, split peas, salt and oil in collaboration of FSP. Value Voucher is purchasing definite commodities through designated retailers across Hirat city. And finally, In-Kind modality which WFP was directly transferring commodities (wheat flour, split peas, oil, and salt) for RSDO in order to be distributed.

Throughout this period, approximately 272,000 households (HHs) benefited from these assistance measures.
