The Razi Social Development Organization (RSDO), in partnership with the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs (GFFO), ADH, and Help Germany, has been carrying out a series of humanitarian aid distribution cycles across the western provinces of Afghanistan—Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Badghis—since October 2022. The main objective of the AFG 124-22 project has been to address the urgent needs of vulnerable populations, particularly those in underserved and conflict-affected areas. The project began with a survey phase in December 2022, followed by the first aid distribution cycle in April 2023, which reached 10,057 households, including 4,293 female-headed and 5,764 male-headed households. The second cycle, implemented between June and August 2023, focused on 3,874 households, with particular attention to female-headed households. In the third cycle, from September 2023 to January 2024, RSDO extended its reach to 10,346 households, including 4,448 female-headed households, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to supporting a growing number of vulnerable families. The fourth cycle carried out from February to March 2024, provided aid to 5,674 households, followed by the final cycle between April and September 2024, which benefited 7,449 households. This final phase emphasized long-term sustainability and community development. Throughout all five cycles, the project successfully supported 37,400 households, including 16,004 female-headed households and 21,396 male-headed households. These efforts reflect RSDO’s ongoing commitment to improving the living conditions of Afghanistan’s most marginalized populations. The collaboration with international partners has been crucial in ensuring the immediate success and long-term sustainability of the project. Given the continuing humanitarian needs and challenges in the region, the project duration has been extended by two additional years, introducing new components to better address the evolving needs of the target provinces.
