The ongoing project between RSDO and WFP, which began in September 2024, is set to continue until April 2025. This project spans Herat City, Gulran, Kushk-e-Kohna, Kohsan, and Zinda Jan districts, aiming to provide assistance to approximately 21,671 households across six distribution cycles.
The beneficiary selection process is carried out through a door-to-door assessment, followed by the scope registration of each eligible household. Distributions are then conducted in alignment with this meticulous selection process.
The assistance is delivered through two modalities: Direct Cash and In-Kind:
- Direct Cash Modality:
Beneficiaries in Herat City and Zinda Jan district receive a cash transfer of 2,900 AFN per household for six distribution cycles. This modality is facilitated by ABMMC, which serves as the financial service provider responsible for cash providing. - In-Kind Modality:
Beneficiaries in Gulran, Kushk-e-Kohna, and Kohsan districts receive essential commodities, including wheat flour, oil, split peas, salt, LNS, and WSB. Under this modality, WFP directly transfers these commodities to the specified districts, where RSDO manages the distribution process.
