The Razi Social Development Organization (RSDO), in collaboration with Christian Aid (CAID), is undertaking a crucial initiative to enhance the livelihood resilience of vulnerable populations in the Kushk-e-Kuna District of Herat Province, Afghanistan. This project, spanning from July 1st to September 30th, 2024, is designed to directly benefit 177 individuals while indirectly impacting 1,239 people with agriculture and livestock activities.
Project Goals: The primary goal of this project is to improve the livelihood resilience of the shock-affected population by providing them with the necessary resources and support to enhance their economic stability and self-sufficiency.
Project Main Activities:
- Livestock Support:
- 60 Households Received Milking Goats:
- Each household received two goats to improve their dairy production.
- 65 Households Received Poultry:
- Beneficiaries underwent technical training to enhance their poultry farming skills.
- 60 Households Received Milking Goats:
- Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction Management (CBDRM):
- Influential community members were identified and trained in disaster risk management.
- 12 members received training on an alert system to ensure timely responses to potential disasters.
- Veterinary Access:
- Coordination with two local veterinary clinics.
- 125 households gained access to these clinics for animal vaccination, improving livestock health.
- Referral Services for Vulnerable Individuals:
- Provision of referral services to ensure vulnerable individuals receive the necessary support and care.
Through these efforts, the project aims to significantly bolster the livelihoods of the shock-affected population by improving their access to essential resources and services, ultimately fostering a more resilient community
