In January, the first distribution of cash under the SSUP project was carried out in Herat city. This distribution follows the Cash Distribution modality, targeting beneficiaries who had previously received cash in December. For the second time, beneficiaries received cash amounting to $43, equivalent to 3200 Afghanis at the daily exchange rate, starting from the January cycle.
This process is set to continue for several days, reaching 6755 eligible individuals for cash distribution. Additionally, infant food (Wawa Mum) will be distributed to families with children under 5 years old. The cash distribution in Herat city began on January 27 and will continue for several more days, with beneficiaries gathering at designated locations, including Reza Town in the twelfth district of Herat city and Khoshbakhti Hall in the fourth district of Herat province, are allocated for distribution.
The WFP, in collaboration with RSDO, is providing assistance to eligible recipients in January in the form of cash and infant food, distributing daily to 1200 to 1500 individuals in designated locations. The process is being successfully implemented.
