
Razi Social Development Organization (RSDO), in partnership with CAID, has launched a critical short-term initiative titled “Emergency Livelihood Support to the Vulnerable Population in Kushk-e-Kuna District, Herat.” This project addresses immediate needs related to health, nutrition, and livelihoods for the most at-risk families in the region.

Project Objectives
The project is designed to improve the well-being of vulnerable households through a mix of emergency livelihood and nutritional support, with a strong focus on women and families with pregnant or lactating mothers. Its key objectives include:
• Enhancing household income through vocational support.
• Improving nutritional status and health.
• Strengthening local preparedness and referral mechanisms.
Key Activities
1. Wool Spinning Support for Women:
Distribution of 284 wool spinning toolkits to female-headed households, followed by a 3-day training on wool spinning techniques to be conducted from 5 to 7 July 2025.
2. Nutrition Package Distribution:
Provision of nutrition packages to 480 of the most vulnerable households, aiming to support families, especially pregnant and lactating mothers.
3. Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM):
Formation of a CBDRM Committee to enhance community-level preparedness and strengthen coordination with emergency response agencies.
4. Referral Mechanism:
Development of a referral system to ensure vulnerable individuals are connected to internal or external support services as needed.
