
Poverty reduction is one of the mandates of RSDO. We have implemented two livelihood and skills development projects.
Saffron development project: This project implemented in Gozara districts targeting 350 formers. We have distributed saffron corm along with brief trainings on the pre and post harvest management for those formers who left cultivating opium as a good alternative income generation.
This project supported the economy of 350 formers to do not return back to opium cultivation. This project supported financially by NICCO and run in Gozara districts targeted 350 families.
Skill Development training: We have trained 90 vulnerable and poor young women in Machine embroidery and Small business training to be able to run their business for 9 months. In addition, the project participants were trained on literacy, hygiene and social education. After the graduation of the training participant were given toolkit and started up their business. A monthly follow up support was done by the project consultant to ensure the smooth business running and time to time participants were given feedback to fill their business gap.
